🌤️ for the wip game!

ok well this is a crime as i struggle SO MUCH w writing dialogue. snippet from a (more or less) surprise wip! that, again, is on hold for pas de deux. enjoy teen lestappen:

“Max! We weren’t even– did someone think they were going to get lucky, hm?” He is so taken aback and so enraptured by this concept. “When were you– how was– Max! Explain yourself.” Max lets out a laugh, clearly past the major step of embarrassment it took for the admission. He purses his lips, and Charles knows he will make fun of Max regardless of what he says. “No, I didn’t think that, not you know– like, not for your birthday. But we just–” He takes a breath, fighting to get the words out. “I thought maybe you wanted that, you know, to hook up. Or that we might and– I wanted to be prepared. So I was just being safe! And now look, it’s useful.”

“Hmm,” Charles pretends to ponder all this evidence with a furrowed brow. “Was it flavored lube? I’ve read that cherry-flavored is supposed to be very good for–” Charles chokes as Max tries to jam his fingers into Charles’ mouth to stop him from talking, tickling him with his free hand. Charles giggles around them, wrestling Max off his body as the two of them burst into fits of laughter, Max’s ears redder than they’ve ever been.  “Charles, please stop talking about it. Not here! In the car, it's too…” Max gestures to the parking lot around them that’s completely void of people. “We don’t have to do anything, I’m just suggesting you could come over and stay the night, you know. It’s– it’s whatever, I just—”
